Shoulder Pain and Treatment

There are a variety of various causes and forms of shoulder pain and treatment from a chiropractor can help you to live more comfortably and recover more quickly. Here are a few of the most common conditions that we see in patients:

  • Frozen Shoulder - adhesive capsulitis - painful - slow recovery but not beyond repair. See our blog
  • Rotator Cuff Tear - this usually is related to trauma or activities but sometimes is not. Testing the muscles is a sure way to find out.
  • General Shoulder Pain - Often patients complain of "shoulder pain", but they really mean pain near the shoulder blade or general shoulder pain that may be related to neck and upper back dysfunction.

Shoulder pain is often related to neck pain, so we see a lot of patients with both issues. Manipulation of the neck and upper back can usually help to alleviate pain and restore normal joint function. A few simple tests can determine the cause; it may be simple.

When Do You Need a Chiropractor for Shoulder Pain

Here is a list of symptoms you might see that suggest you should visit our clinic:

  • Headaches - headaches can really cause a lot of problems in your life, so be sure to get yourself checked out for neck, back, and shoulder causes.
  • Tendonitis - this is inflammation of the tendons that connect the muscle to the bone in your shoulder (or any part of the body).
  • Joint pain - the older you get, the more common this becomes. Keep your eye out for acute pains that can indicate something is wrong.
  • Insomnia - sleepless nights indicate there may be a need to see the chiropractor.
