Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy has been well documented in the treatment of chronic and acute inflammatory conditions, such as osteoarthritis, bursitis, and tendinitis. Also referred to as low level laser therapy (LLLT) or photo bio modulation (PBM), it's innovative and on the cutting edge of technology.

Studies have shown that your body heals more quickly with low level light therapy. Lasers and LED therapy has been documented to activate the mitochondria (the cell energy), and increase cellular activity. It is also known to speed up cell division and energy production at the cellular level. Alzheimer's and other neurological diseases are being studied, and the early results are positive!

These benefits allow you to heal more quickly, while reducing discomfort and pain. Some injuries are irritated by the normal, everyday activities of life, like walking or using your hands and arms. Your body starts the healing process, but then you flare up because of the activity. That's why cold laser therapy is so useful; it helps you get ahead of the pain and heal.

Laser therapy helps many patients with neuromas, bursitis, tendonitis, muscle or ligament injuries, and more. Keep in mind that it doesn't fix everything. We usually recommend this method when other therapies fail, and the patient wants to avoid surgery.

Why Is It Called Cold Laser Therapy?

LLLT is referred to most commonly as "cold laser", because is does not burn or shrink the tissue. It activates the body's tissues/cells to make them function more effectively. Think of it like sunlight for your plants - too much heat will burn them, but the right amount will make them grow (of course with water and fertilizer, which is why proper nutrition is always helpful to those living in pain).

Is It Expensive?

We don't charge more than most other therapies. The lasers are expensive, but have shown to help our patients in a ways we couldn't before. Come on in and try cold laser therapy for back pain in Roseville, California.
